Vinyl cutting solutions can include; shop frontage, window graphics, way finding, event signage, wedding decor, gallery texts, installations, presentations, light boxes, wall decals, personal projects, uni projects and many other applications.

Whether you are a student, individual or commercial entity we are confident that our prices for vinyl cutting services are the most competitive in Auckland. Our price per hour does not mean that you have to cut for an hour to receive this rate, we will charge you only for the time of your specific job.

Do you supply vinyl?
We stock a range of vinyl in store which is available for purchase. If we do not have a particular type / colour of vinyl that you are after we can source vinyl locally for you. To browse / purchase vinyl click here.
What width vinyl can you cut?
Maximum 610mm material width.
Maximum of 570mm cutting area width.
If you bring us vinyl that is wider than 610mm we will not be able to put it through our machine. Please note that if your sign / text / graphic is outside of these maximums it does not mean that we can not cut your sign, as depending on the nature of your sign / text / graphic it is possible to cut in panels to achieve your desired intended effect and finish.
What type of vinyl can you cut?
We can most types of vinyls at different grades / thicknesses (maximum of 610mm wide). If you are unsure whether or not we can cut your vinyl, bring in a small piece as we are happy to do a test cut for you.
Can I make a booking?
It is not necessary to book a time slot for our vinyl cutting service, so feel free to just call before you come in or email us to check the turn around time.

How do I set up my files for cutting?

Can you set up files for me?
Yes we can set up file for you, we charge $80 p/h for file set up.
What file types do you accept?
Illustrator, PDF, DWG 2013, DXF 2103.
Can you prep the vinyl so that it is ready for application for me?
Yes we also provide weeding and taping services.
Can you do installation of vinyl on panels or onsite?
Yes, we can apply cut vinyl onto provided or supplied panels, we can also install / apply vinyl onsite (site dependent). Feel free to enquire or request a quote for your specific job.
I need a sign made up, can you do that for me?
Yes, we do provide sign making services. Feel free to contact us about your project and specific needs. We are more than happy to have a chat and help you realise your signage / way-finding needs.
What is your usual turn around time?
We generally have a same day to next day turn around except during busy periods when our turn around time can extend to 2 days.
Do you print on vinyl?
We currently do not have the ability to print + cut vinyl, however, we can large format print onto vinyl / adhesive backed media and depending on the complexity it could possibly be laser cut.

How thin can I make my text for vinyl cutting?
A general rule is to not cut shapes or text that are smaller / thinner than 1mm in width, as they are tricky to weed and to apply to a surface. We can not guarantee successful cuts for any pieces less than 1mm wide, should you wish to will be doing so at your own risk.
What if I require a combination of vinyl cutting and laser cutting, is this possible?
Absolutely! We understand that objects may need to go through more than one single digital fabrication process to get to a desired outcome. Your more than welcome to do vinyl cutting for your laser cutting all in one place here at Make Shop.
